Typically, such large waterfalls would provide power for electricity, transport, milling, etc. However, they usually only pertained to man-made waterfalls or waterfalls that were once there but had been completely destroyed in the name of development. In our experience, we’ve seen many cities with the name “Falls” in them (Grand Falls, Klamath Falls, Twin Falls, Sioux Falls, Wichita Falls, etc. This hike offers great views of the Snake River and the canyon floor!Īs you can tell, we packed in a lot during our 1.5 days in Twin Falls, that mostly revolved around waterfall hikes! We also visited the mall during a brief rain shower.Idaho Falls was one of those waterfalls that not only pertained to the name of the waterfall, but it was also the name of the city in which it sat at its heart. We also used AllTrails for directions to the trailhead. But we did it and the boys had fun climbing over the rocks. I would rate it as moderate/hard because you have to scramble over several large rocks along the trail. There is a trail that leads straight up to the falls. There is a 4 mile loop that you can hike and see several other falls in the distance, but I wanted to hike closer to this waterfall.
